Up until now, I was lost. I felt that life had defeated me and there was nowhere else to go. I prayed and begged for help. A way out from my upside-down world. A world filled with fear, anxiety, and panic. My hopes and dreams were small and gray far too gone for me to see. It is funny how the universe works. How prayers are answered. I received a phone call one day that would in a short period of time, turn my life right side up. I was referred to Wahida Sekandar. It took one last panic attack for me to pick up the phone and call her. I went in thinking it would be another failed attempt to save me. All it took was one call with her for me to agree to invest in myself. All it took was a week to lift the heavy weight of grief and negative emotions I carried with me since childhood and begin transforming. All it took was a month for me to begin building my dreams. Thank you Wahida Jan for all your support and believing in me. Thank you for not giving up on me on my darkest days and guiding me to bring back positive energy into my life. I learned to love and respect myself. I learned to live again.

Therapy with Wahida has been one of the best investments I could have made for myself. Before meeting Wahida, I had tried Cognitive Behavioral Therapy but never felt as though my mental health was improving long-term. The mental and emotional release portion of this program was essential to my foundation in changing my state of mind. Her program has allowed me to reconnect with my calm and peaceful nature and has even helped my friends and family by extension. I have learned the power of language, meditations, and visualizations. Definitely worth the investment! As a Muslim American Afghan, I was hesitant about going to therapy. Wahida Sekandar changed my life for the better. Her life coaching techniques goes beyond the standard methods to offer temporary fixes. She teaches you skills that you could apply on a day to day basis and throughout life. Her self -awareness techniques and the use of your subconscious mind helps you identify and eliminate harmful negative self- talk of not being good enough at its roots. You’ll learn to self -love and heal from within and overall become aware of your mind, the way you interact with people, and focus on you and your goals. I wish I would’ve met Wahida Sekandar sooner. Wahida was an incredibly thoughtful and patient practitioner. She spent the time to make sure that she got to know my specific problems and made a strong effort to orient her therapy in a way that would best suit me. Thanks to this, the therapy felt very personal and specifically helpful to me in overcoming my own anxieties. Before the therapy , I was feeling a lot of negative self-talk and I was blaming myself for decisions in my past. The emotional release therapy helped me realize that much of what I was blaming myself for was out of my control. This not only helped me feel better, but it also taught me to be more gentle and patient with myself in general, which has been very valuable in my life beyond the therapy.
